I made a deposit of 3 checks totaling $15,750 through an ATM which is my usual method of manual deposit. Keep in mind it is their policy that it takes 2 days for the funds to be accessible to me in my account (I wasn't aware of that until this problem arose). My balance at the time of this deposit was less than $500. Comerica claims that one of the checks, worth $2500, was not in the envelope that I deposited, which I think is a lie because the check has not turned up on my end and I'm 99% positive I put it in the deposit envelope. I'm pretty sure THEY lost it on their end. This, however, is beside the point. At some point in their process they relized they only had 2 checks for $14,250 and INSTANTLY deducted $2500 from my account, putting my balance or $2000 negative! I then had a few small charges go through for a sandwich, among other things, and for each charge that went through while by balance was over $2000 negative I was assessed a $33 fee.
