On Saturday 10/4/03, I received a letter stating that I had a debt of $ 10,530.75 that I owed to Camco. I called the rude company to verify this debt and find out this is from a loan that originated back in 1992, which then I would of been 16 at the time. I asked the girl that I spoke with name Tabith Lee ext 1167, if I could record her and thats when she started yelling at me and saying that I owe this debt and we will come after you for this amount by all laws and she also said again that this is a legal account with Bank of America.
So then I called Bank of America to see what information they have and nothing came up, the only statement he said was if you owed us 10,530.75, trust me that we wouldn't of taken 11 years to find you. So I did the next best thing and called Channel 12 News which had a story about me and showed 3 different time about how this company is screwing over people and banking on a small % of people to not dispute it and just pay them. The news aired me last night 10/09/03 and again 10/10/03.
Now when I called the company, one day after the news interview showed, they say my account is closed, but they still said we will get you for this debt, (per Tabith Lee ext1167)
