We overcharged our household bank card by $15 3 months ago. We have since attmpted to pay off the charges and the overlimit amount but to no avail. Household bank bills us on the 9th of every month. We recieve this bill around the 13th of the month with a due date of the 1st of the follwing month. We paid this bill (and overdue amount as stated on the bill) and had it back in the mail by the 14th.
This should be plenty of time to post to the account prior to the due date. However, Household, as stated on their toll free # (1-800-477-6000) takes 10 days to post the transaction to your account. Also, Household Bank charges their overlimit fees within 10 days from the date that the statement is issued. Making it impossible to pay the overlimit amount prior to the assessment of overlimit fees ($35/month in this case)! My suggestion to anyone who has an opportunity to do so, would be to pay off this card immediately or not get one at all!
