A man named Jim Cooper out of the blue called saying I owed $1100 but would settle for $445. He wouldn't tell me what the charge was for and kept threatening that it was on my credit report and a lawsuit would be filed if this was not paid. I checked my credit report and there was nothing on there. Each time he called, he became more demanding. I asked for his contact information so I could call him back, but when I did, I always got a voice mail. When I tried calling back again now, there is no message. I told him to send me an invoice with the original charge and company the bill was for. He sent the LAMEST, fake ass invoice that was obviously made up. I proceeded to google his name, company, address and phone number but nothing came up (actually the address he provided was for a dance studio).
BEWARE of this guy. He must think we're completely dumb to fall for his scam. What's scary is that he did have some of my information so some poor, naive person could totally be taken for their money.
