I have a chase master card and was charged a late fee even though items were returned to the store nad the remaining balance for that statement was paid in full.
I suspect chase intentionally did this because the late fee apppeared on the same statement that the credit was issued.
On or about october 19 chase fraudulently billed me on my statement which ended on october 28 (due date: nov 17) for $15.00 in late fees even though at that time there was a zero balance on the account as a result of items were returned to the store.
The late fee was eventually credited to my account but that does not excuse the illegal activity of chase which is a violation of the fair debt and colelctions practices act.
I suspect that there are many other chase mastercard holders that they did this to hoping that we are stupid enough and or aggravated enough to just pay it and forget about it.
I am in the process of suing chase for violating the fair debt abd collection practices act and am wondering if there are other people that chase has done this to.
