I had the misfortune of getting involved with Bring It Home, Inc, a fraudulent internet services company (see reports on this site). I disputed the charge to my Chase Mastercard within a couple of months when it became obvious to me that Bring It Home was a scam. Nobody at Chase, including CEO William Harrison, Jr., would believe ME, their customer. Chase let Bring It Home keep my money.
Then, to add insult to injury, Chase issued me duplicate checks for an unrelated credit on my account. Being an honest person, I only cashed one check. I returned the other to Michael J. Barrett, President of Chase Manhattan Bank, along with a letter explaining my experiences with his company. No response.
A couple of months later, the amount of the duplicate check showed up on my statement from Chase, even though I'd closed my account 8 months before! Of course, I wasn't about to pay them again for money I'd already returned. They started adding late fees every month and reported me as delinquent to the credit bureaus. So, now they've ruined my credit rating as well as not believing my dispute with the Bring It Home.
Chase's motto is "The right relationship is everything." DON"T BELIEVE IT! They don't give a rat's ass about their customers.
