Rude service

I was contacted by a very rude lady from E R Solutions about a debt with a cell phone company. I was not aware that there was an outstanding balance. She offered to make arrangements, pay some by the end of this month and the rest next month.

I was not sure when I could make a payment, she asked if I needed a call back and I asked if I could be contacted next week, not realizing next week was the end of the month. The rude rep became extremely aggressive and actually accused me of not wanting to pay the bill.

I told her I did not appreciate being called a liar, which she says I took the wrong way. She continued being aggressive, making derogatory remarks about me wanting to contact her the last week of the month, that it was a holiday (Thanksgiving) and that a lot of offices are closed for the majority of the week (?)

I told her I was going to request Monday, as Thanksgiving was not until Thursday. She continued spouting her tripe about offices being closed, at which point my wife took the phone and tore the rude rep a new one and hung up. I understand this is a collection agency but the heavy-handed tactics are not always necessary - rudeness is never necessary.

If I spoke to people that way on my job, I would get my a* handed to me. Maybe if they weren't so rude and aggressive they wouldn't get yelled at as much.
