FirstData - TeleCheck Good check, no bad report then why the decline?

In two different stores and three seperate occasions our checks have 'declined by TeleCheck. We called the number they were 'nice' enough to give us and for two hours tried to get this straightened out.

We were told that there was nothing wrong with our record. We had nothing wrong but we did not meet their guidelines. To work with them we asked what 'guidelines' have we not met. They would not and could not tell us. It was a "privacy issue'.

When asked what we should do they told us to keep writing checks.By this time I was getting pretty upset so I asked the representative where they were answering the phone calls from. I ws told the Phillipines. I asked for a supervisor and got nowhere but a little farther up the chain of frustration. Same script, no reason give.

That was the first try. The next day after another decline I went to my bank and prevailed upon their officer to help me. They tried to reason with the reps again. Not even the bank manager could help.

We have been doing busienss with businesses and merchants in this city for over 20 years. Never have we had a check turned down or had one bounce. We do not use debit cards and hate to use credit cards, We use checks whenever we can and have had no problem ever.

Now we don't meet 'guidelines' that are so secret that we can't be told what we have done or how we can correct the matter. The rep's last words to us were "we are sorry for any inconvenience' INCONVENIENCE! I am now turning our whole way we do business upside down. I don't appreciate it one small bit.

It seems as if just for their jollies they pick on a perfectly honest customer of a business to harrass, embarrrass and annoy. We are left with no alturnative but to stop doing business where these annoyances have happened and to let them know why they no longer have our business. It may not matter to them but at least the business will have been told about the problem. I can't help but think that in this economy any good customer would be welcomed. Perhaps my message will get through to someone who can do something about it.

I am praying for a class action-law-suit to be started. I'd gladly give my evidence for the cause.
