Here's the letter I sent to all the Capital ONE officers listed below, the BBB, and the Federal Trade Commission - and I ENCOURAGE YOU to do the same. Make this company do the right thing by us - and make the governing bodies aware of what they are doing so they can enact some legislation to stop this! I have included the addresses for you!
My letter:
For three billing cycles I have been trying to close this Credit Card account. You keep adding bogus charges to solicit additional money from me instead of closing the account as requested. I fell for it and paid the $6 the second cycle but the late charge and membership you assessed on the third billing is outrageous.
I now see why you have sooooooooooooooooooo many negative entries on this website (also see printed example below):

The stories here are exactly the kind of thing you are attempting to do to me now and I find it appalling.
