I was attempting to refinance my double-wide mobile home which I owed $57,000. The loan officer quoted me $400 for appraisal and $450 for closing costs. Two weeks later after I had my home appraised which cost me $450 I received the contract via email. The actualy cost of closing was $9000. I then phoned the bank to tell him I wanted an attorney to read this and was accused of threatening him. Then he called me stupid for not knowing the legal fees involved. I was told my mortgage payment would be $390 which was $170 savings but actually the payment was $200 higher.
