I was ALMOST a victim of Heartland Home Finance. I have never been so stressed as I have been dealing with this company. I have been going through this for over a month.
The very first thing I asked was how much are the closing cost? I was told there would be no closing cost, as they would be rolled into the loan. I went back and forth faxing endless information.
I had my house appraised last year and told the agent, that it appraised for $ 141,000. We hadn't received the results from my current appraisal yet so he later told me he put the value at $ 145,000. (why?) Well my appraisal came back at $ 138,000.
So now the closing cost I didn't need to come up with all of a sudden I need $ 3,000.00 and he would do what he could to get them as low as possible. That deal fell through so he tried another underwriter.
He comes back this time with $ 2,200.in closing cost. Stating that my house didn't appraise high enough to roll the cost in. (he neglected to warn me of that)
Today June 18 at 2:00 P.M. WAS suppose to be my closing date, but to my surprise (or not) I need to come up with an additional $ 2,200.
He told me that he forfeited his commission and just wanted to get the deal through.
He was upset at me, and felt I didn't appreciate all his hard work (you got to be kidding me) I told him, you tell me I need double the closing cost on my closing date and HE'S UPSET.
I decided (better late than never in this case) to check out the company on line and found a complaint. I immediately called them and cancelled the deal. Thank you for your service It just saved me a lot of money.
