I got this card, and completely understood the high fees associated with this "deal" to help rebuild my credit. Got my card back in December of ALWAYS made my payments on time, ALWAYS more than the minimum payment, etc.
On the 5 month I paid my bill via the internet (internet assures me of a receipt of an on-time payment), it took a week to get it posted to my account so I called to make sure everything on my account was current, and the nice CS rep siad I should be able to get a credit line ncrease. I agreed and they said they would process it for me. This is were the problem started.
I got a letter in the mail denying a credit increase, which I can understand due to only having the card 5 months. Here are the reasons (#1) the number of months since your account was opened. (I completely understand that), it's the next 2 reasons that bother me. (#2) THE NUMBER OF TIMES YOU ACCOUNT HAS BEEN OVERLIMIT IN THE LAST TWO YEARS PLUS YEAR-TO-DATE and (#3) THE LENGTH OR SEVERITY OF DELINQUENCY IN THE PAST MONTHS.
I called them personally and asked to speak to manager or supervisor, and she told me to send the original back to them so they could examine the letter. The really seemed to want the letter back. I told them I think I will hold onto it for awhile and see what happens.
It just makes me so mad that this company treats me like this, I ALWAYS pay on time, they have NEVER had to "hunt" me down for a payment, and then I get a letter like this.
If anyone has a suggestion I would appreciate it greatly. I was even considering calling a lawyer to see if I has any recourse and if this constitutes slander or breaks the law.
