I noticed on my statement this month that my APR is now 13.9%. I called and got their customer service (in Sri Lanka i think!) and asked when this went up and how much. She said it went up in May from 4.19; I asked to speak with someone in the U.S. And that person told me letters were sent out in May that gave me the option to Opt Out (whatever that means!). I explained we had a house fire in April and that things have been chaos since then and do not remember getting the letter. She said there was nothing they could do to lower my rate. I called again to talk to someone in customer service to ask for a manager and was told I could fax in my complaint or mail a letter - they do not have a phone number for anyone in customer relations! Yeah, ask me if I believe that!
Anyway, luckily i'm in a position that I can pay off this account but I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH CAPITAL ONE AGAIN!
