Closed my account and lied to me

I had a opened a checking account with Wells Fargo Bank and during the first month that I had the account i lost my job due to the economy being in such bad shape. I was out of work for a month and during that time I had mistakenly used my check card for a few dollars over than the amount that I had to cover it in my account.

That was fine at first but then the other items that were pending caused a domino affect and I ended up with a bunch of $35 overdraft fees. This took me a while to fix as i wasnt working and couldnt pay the fees. All together it was about 3 weeks and I got a letter saying that they were in the process of closing my account due to excessive overdrafts. Which were 4 or 5 of them.

I called the bank and they said that even if I paid the fees that my account was going to be closed. I never have heard of a bank closing an account for a few overdraft fees. So then I get another I got another letter after that telling me my account was overdrawn and so I called and they said that the reason the account was closing so soon is they had the wrong phone number on me and couldnt contact me but now that i have given them my new number the account would stay open if I would go pay the fees.

I went to pay the fees and they told me that the account was already closed and I would have to pay the fees then reopen another account. But that it would take a few weeks for me to get my check card. I was upset because they kept telling me one thing then another then another...

I told them I couldnt afford to pay the fees and then give them another $100 to open another account. I wanted to know why I couldnt keep the account that I had already and wanted to know why they closed it so fast. I got the run around.

If I only had enough to pay the fees to fix the overdrafts and I wouldnt have use of my account check card. Then I was going to come back when I had $100 more so I could open my new account at the same time. So I left with my money and said I would be back. The lady at the bank told me that I would for sure be able to open another account. I came back a week later and handed her the money for the fees and for a new account and she paid the fees then came back to me and said that i had to wait until the fees the i paid shows on the computer so that it will clear and allow me to open another account.

She told me to call her the next day. I called her the next day and she told me that they werent going to let me open a new account with them. She Lied to me just so I would pay the fees. I was going to pay the fees from the beginning iI just needed time to get the money and whoever heard of a bank closing your account for some overdraft fees when the person is paying them? Wells Fargo Bank is unethical, liars and they dont treat their customers with any respect or honesty.
