I filed a wage earner 15 years ago. FOR medical bills thats all. So about 5 years ago we bought a house. Got 15 credit cards. Got a providian card in the mail 1000 limit at no cost. So i kept it. Within 6 months my limit was raised to 1500 then 2500 in the next year. I always paid on time. Never went over the limit. Never paid the minimum. Always paid more.
Then 1 day I get a emerge card in the mail and it is to replace my providian card. It has a 29.99 apr. Icalled to ask why when my other 3 providian cards had 12.7 & 15.9 & 17.9 apr's on them and they said that was how it was.
And I could do nothing but pay the card in full or pay the apr...
They will review your account (they say) every 6 months. And if you play by their rules they may lower your apr. It has been a year and i have paid on time never over the limit. Always pay more than billed. And no reduction in apr. This is so wrong.
How can they do this..
I am fussing because when i got these cards my husband and i could aford all the extra's with a credit card. Now he is disabled and the apr is killing me. At this rate I will never get the card paid off. What do I do.
