Got a letter from Jefferson Capital on an old credit card account. A check of my credit card proved this debt was way past our state statute of six years for debt collections. AS I read the 'fine print' on this offer I became more enraged as it became more evident of what a scam this really is. When you read agreement you realize this is for an old credit card debt thast you may not legally owe. However once you sign the agreement, the clock starts all over and you are screwed.in June of Jefferson Capital was nailed by the FTC for scamming consumers. They were fined $150,000 for deceptive credit card marketing. Their owner David M. Burton has more than 600 complaints with the Better Business Bureau. They also use the Majestic Visa, Aspire Visa credit cards, all are the same scam, pay off old debts, lots of fees and phony charges. Stay away from these scammers they are nothing but trouble all you will get is further in debt. Burton is out to screw you, so screw him first by trashing his letters. What a piece of carp!
