Bank ATM Debit Card Account and Pin number theft not insured

After I used an ATM machine at RACETRAC gas station on Denton Hwy in Haltom City, Texas, someone duplicated my transaction seven times and stole $400.00 from my account!

This happened on Wednesday 11/19. I discovered and reported it on the next day, Thursday 11/20. My report was made about 24 hours after the event after I checked my account on-line and discovered the crime.

A man who works for Chase and whom I know personally says that when you answer "no" to the question of "Do you want another transaction?" the receipt comes out; I got my receipt and have it with me. My card was not left there. I have my card and used it one more time after this incident; this was at Taco Bueno 11/19.

I have been told that anytime you use any machine with your card that you should punch the "cancel" button before you leave the machine. I will.

RACETRAC says they have no video camera on the ATM, which was outside. Nor do they have cameras on their parking lot and pumps.

When the detective went to the store to pick up the surveillance video of the inside of the store, it had been "lost". Then I wondered if the machine is serviced from inside the store and perhaps something was covered up by the loss of the video. Speculation, only.

Chase bank refuses to do anything on my behalf because they say the transactions are legitimate since the thief used my pin number. This account has been active since 1972 but that means nothing to Chase.

The detective has closed the case already because there is no picture of the criminal and I don't know who he or she is.

I have filed a report with the FTC online. I believe someone can do something about this crime. I will continue to search out ways to get to the bottom of this.

The problem is, I am the only one who has suffered. The machine charged me $1.50 and Chase charged me $2.00 for each transaction. Chase charged me because it was a non-Chase machine.

So now I am out $424.50 total plus the trouble of moving by monthly drafts to another bank and eventually closing an account open since 1972.

If anyone has had a similar problem I would like to hear from you.
