In 1999 I filed bankruptcy. It was around this time I began to receive mail from ACE American Credit Educators. The last thing in the world I ever wanted to see again was a credit card and I declined. Before, during and after filing bankruptcy I continue to recieve "pre-approved" credit card offers, both legitimate and scam (like ACE). I have one (1) credit card & my bankcard which is all I'll ever need.
I discovered the ACE entry on my credit report (s) recently when I applied for a loan to repay my Federal Student loans with my credit union. The loan officer mistakenly thought that ACE was a part of the federal government & my student loans. I have repeatedly asked ACE to prove I applied for this credit program. Since it is impossible for prove a negative, I believe the burden of proof lies with a mail fraud company like ACE.
I agree with many of the writers to this WEB site. Even if it were $3.00 the principal would not allow me to pay this. This company cannot be allowed to profit from unsuspecting and vulnerable individuals.
