Care Credit took an automatic payment from our bank account with a zero balance owed on our care credit acct

We had payed off our care credit account prior to the accumulated interest due. We had a zero balance. Eleven days later, Care Credit withdrew the same amount, with an obvious balance of zero. (They just had to look at the account information to see that! - Common sense!)

We contacted Care Credit by telephone, waited 45 minutes on hold before we were able to speak to a customer service employee. This employee stated it would be rectified in 4 to 6 weeks. They could not refund the $ 2351 back into our account, they could only send a check in 4 to 6 weeks. We asked to speak to a supervisor, we were again on hold for another 20 more minutes until one came to the phone. Mallory stated all we had to do is fax a copy of our bank statement proving the 2351 was iindeed paid on the 15th of Oct. 2008 and once they received that confirmation, we would receive our check within two days.

Well one week later., no check. I called again, waited on hold for 15 minutes this time, asked to speak to Mallory and was told that was impossible. They could transfer me to the "escalations" department where I spoke to a VERY RUDE Stephen who stated there was nothing that could be done, I would have to wait the 4 to 6 weeks for what rightlyfully belonged to me. It was their error. Who takes that kind of payment with a zero balance??? What their error has caused (including multiple overdrafts of my account) has been frustration and financial hardship. But they have been collecting interest on my money all this time.

When I asked the VERY RUDE Stephen to speak to his supervisor, he stated there wasn't any. I guess this explains why the VERY RUDE Stephen still has a job!!! VERY RUDE Stephen couldn't even give me a phone number, just a PO Box to file a complaint some where in El Paso Texas. This kind of customer service, is obviously job security - keeping other peoples hard earned money for their profit. Needless to say, after speaking with VERY RUDE Stephen, I have canceled my card. This confirmation will only take 5 to 7 days to receive. How does that work!!!
