I opened a bank account with Bank Atlantic a few months ago. I rarely used the account but on October 1 I made a purchase with the debit card. The purchase went through and hit my account twice. I notified Bank Atlantic of the mistake and wanted to dispute the item but they said I could not because it was pending. They told me to wait till it posted. Meanwhile Bank Atlantic Charged me for an overdraft fee on the second charge. I called them and asked if they could now correct the problem and they told me that they would not and that they would not return my $32 fee. They said the one charge didn't go through so that their was nothing to undue or correct. I asked them why I had a fee and they said because it could have been a ligitimate charge and it doesn't matter if it was or not. I then checked my account again and I was hit with another $32 dollar fee. I am now out $64 dollars and never once spent more than I had in the bank. I have been punished for using their bank card and being a good customer. They stole $64.00 from me and refuse to help me. Very bad customer service and a manager never called me back either and I have called 5 times trying to get a manager. They are a horrible bank.
