We originally had our loan with Washington Mutual (another lame company) who lost our payments, posted payments late, added late fees, etc. They then turned our loan over to Fairbanks Capital Corp. Who immediately started threatening letters and phone calls. I have continuously asked for mortgage history and never received one. We have been forced to seek relief in a Chapter 13 as this company is not cooperative or even easy to reach.
The phone number they supply us directs you to voice mails all over their systems and each message assures you "they will return all calls in 24 hours" Great! By the time they call you back, you are at work and not at the phone. You call them back and again get the same voice mail. I have several times followed the instructions to "press 0" for immediate assistance and been left on hold for up to 56 minutes and then get bounced back to the same voice mail.
I have heard rumors that Fairbanks specializes in picking up loans on properties that are behind; they foreclose; and pick up a profit on the sale of the properties. I am beginning to believe this is true. They certainly are not willing to work with people on keeping their properties.
