This is just a quick complaint about the overdraft fees that Citizens Bank charges.
Yes, I should not have overdrawn my account. Sure, I should have been keeping better track of my expenses. True, I should not be living so close to the wire. BUt guess what, times are tight and I have rent and bills to pay and a need to eat.
AND, the charges I just had to pay for a minor overdradft are ridiculous.
I miscalculated how much was in may account and overdrew it by only $11.61 cents via only 3 very small transactions. How much did I end up paying for this apparently enormous inconvenience to the monolithic and frightening wealthy capitalist giant, you ask? $117!!
I looked up the per transaction overdraft fee (you can also just do the math) and it is $39 dollars per transaction! Even on an amount like 0.72 cents (that was the first transaction that put me over). Even Bank of America only charges $19 per over-draft transaction.
BOYCOTT CITIZENS AND SWITCH BANKS! I certainly am going to.
