On 6/30/06 I settled my MBNA accounts that Wolpoff & Abrasom were handling (Mann Braken took over Wolpoff & Abrasom by merger). On June 30 I contacted them to payoff my accounts with them and have a letter faxed stating that the accounts are closed. I am trying to buy a house and I need this account closed before I can get the loan. I was told that a letter would be mailed after the funds cleared. I was told that it would be 21 days (not business days) before the letter went out. I have tried for 2 1/2 weeks to get them to call me and fax a letter. Everytime I call I get put through to Roland, my account rep. He will not return any of my calls. I have left messages for Roland to call me and he doesn't. I left messages that I could fax over copies of the canceled checks. He does not call back. I even faxed copies of the checks to the number on the statement and asked for a letter to be faxed. I got no response. I have left messages for Roland's boss and I did not get a call back. I don't see how this company can get away with waiting so long before sending out a paid in full letter when I am willing to send proof that the funds cleared.
