When my husband and I opened our business account at Wells Fargo, we specifically asked if they would cash a check made out to our business. They assured us that they would. So we opened our business account with them.
One of our customers presented us with a rather large check and due to an accounting mistake, bounced the check to us. Since then, Wells Fargo started holding all of our deposits for up to 11 days. We were charged many bounced check charges and suffered a lot of embarrassment. We never knew how long our checks would be held.
Then they started to return checks with our business name on them. We never knew if the check would go through. We would go into the bank and complain and sometimes they would credit the fees back and sometimes they would not.
It was a miserable experience which is why we moved our money to Cal Fed, who was bought out by Citibank, but that's another story. Stay tuned for the story of my Wells Fargo credit card debacle.
