Took out a Capital One Auto Finance loan in May. Payments are due on the 10th of the month and are all paid on or before due date. December payment was made 12/6/02 and on 12/13/02 received a call from Capital One stating that my payment was 3 days past due.
I checked my bank account on line and discovered that my check was paid/cleared my account on 12/12/02. They have no record of it and obviously do not have the resources or brains to cross reference names, amounts, etc.
Refuse to investigate the matter until I provide them with a copy of the cancelled check so they can see that it was in fact received, posted somewhere, deposited into their account and then clearing my account.
In the meantime, I continue to remain in their eyes as past due and they had the nerve to ask me if I could afford to send in another payment so I would not show as past due until they figured out what they did with my money.
Was treated very rudely by all I spoke with and trust me, when I do get the check copy and get this resolved, someone there will get a piece of my mind and I will begin shopping for alternate auto financing after the first of the year.
