Placed bogus credit debt on Experian Credit Report

While doing a yearly credit report from reputable credit agencies, I found a potentially negative item for further review on my Experian Credit Report. This was the only company out of 3 that had any negative status for me. The credit item was from ACC in Scranton Pennsylvania. The status was a collection account originally $4,090.00 but is currently $7,534.00. I did not and have never had any contact with such company or owned a Discover Card.

I requested an investigation from Experian and received notice that the outcome was only updated not deleted. I have called again to request another investigation.in the meantime I researched the address and found many interesting leads to what this whole company is doing. I have found that there are numerous people being scammed just like me. I found exellent links to support and also a course of steps to take to seek possible legal action against them. I will continue to research and follow through with what needs to be done to stop this illegal action being taken by this bogus collection agency.

Currently I have sent a certified letter with a return receipt to ACC in Scranton Pennsylvania. I have informed them about my dispute to their claim. I requested the following information that in accordance with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act that you have the right to receive.

1. The amount of the debt; a valid agreement containing my signature and a detailed explanation of how they arrived at the figure they claim is owed;

2. The nane of the creditor to whom the debt is owed;

3. A verification or copy of any judgement ever made;

4. Proof that they are licensed to collect debts in Colorado;

I also demanded that they immediately send a copy of this dispute letter to the original creditor if there is one? And also to Experian so they are also aware of my dispute with this debt. Failute to repond to me properly by the 30 day period will leave me with no other option but to seek legal action against them.

I encourage anyone who is having this happen to them to seek out whatever means they can to follow through with stopping them. There are many elderly people and special needs victims out there. They need advocates to see this thing through.
