Well, well, well it looks like corporate rip off is alive and kicking here in America!!! My husband and I have had other lenders for our mobile home in the last 20 yrs but 21st mortgage takes the cake!!! We refinanced with Chase several (15yrs) I believe, and they sold the loan to 21st Mortgage. We were not aware of this until w received the payment books in the mail. According to our records our loan should be paid in full as of August of this year!!! But when I called for a pay off the company said we owed $8,000.00 yet. I was like what? Well in the last couple years we've really been struggling since I lost my job and the payments have been late, but they always get them. 21st Mortgage has called us several times a day and written us letters even after they receive the payment. Well the other day a neighbor came and told me that 21st mortgage called her and left a message for her to contact them. She did and they told her that we had her listed as a contact on our mortgage!!! I said what? She was very upset and I assured her that they were not listed as a contact. I called and left a message for Amy who is the person who calls us all the time, and told her they would be hearing from my attorney. I since found out that they also contacted our sons father-in-law and said the same thing to him. We didn't even know our neighbors or our sons in-laws when we took the loan out on this place. I have contacted the Attorney Generals Office, OCC and the FTC and the Department of Commerce in my state and filed complaints. I have also spoken with an attorney but he said unless I have A LOT of money I may as well forget it!!! The little guys get screwed again!!! Corporate ripoff still going strong!!! What is this country coming to?
And how did they connect sons father in law to us or our neighbors? We have no rights anymore... Very sad but true. I will forge ahead and hopefully put an end to the madness 21st mortgage has created in my life.
