I recently received an acceptance certificate for the approval of a consumer first platinum card with a credit line of 5,000.00. It stated that to receive my new platinum card all I had to do was send back the acceptance certificate along with a one-time 45.00 membership fee or 49.00 rush processing and delivery fee and once they receive the form along with the membership fee that my platinum card would be sent to me. It also stated that the complete details of my membership will be included with my new platinum card.
I'm curious as to if this is a legitimate offer or a scam of some sort. Consumer First did not include an exact physical address as to their company's location, they did not provide a tele.# to contact them, nor did they provide an e-mail address.
The acceptance certificate did not include a date or an expiration date for this offer and neither does the envelope. Therefore I cannot provide proof of when this was sent. If this is a scam I would like to know how these people got my address and want my name and information deleted from their database/files.
Please let me know via e-mail if this company is in good standing or not or wether it exists at all. Thank you.
