Rjm Acq
LLC This issue was "taken care of" twice. I still owe money!? RJM is ripping me off!

In october of I was charged numerous overdraft charges with Wachovia Bank. I walked in to my local branch and cancelled the account. I repaid the monies that caused the overdraft but refused to pay the fees that came along with them. The representative said that the fees would be waived because I believed the overdraft protection I paid for to be useless. Wachovia Failed to waive the fees and left an unpaid balance of $248.

Knowing I "closed" my account in person and it was all taken care of I was worry free and finally glad to be rid of Wachovia and their rediculous fees.

Little did I know that they did not waive anything.in fact they failed to take the 18 dollars that I overdrafted off of the balance that they later released to a collection agency called RJM Acquisitions LLC (which is a joke of a collection agency). Not only do I have a collection agency hounding me for the $230 in overdraft fees, but the $18 that I paid that caused the fees when I closed my account was back on the outstanding balance.

I was contacted in March by a representative of RJM that refused to disclose her name or the name of her company. She merely stated that they were a collection agency and had my social security number and a balance for $248 that they wanted to collect FROM ME. I asked where this balance was from and she stated "Wachovia".

It wasn't until this time that I even was notified that my account was in fact NOT CLOSED at the time I went to the local bank branch and was left open and eventually closed as delinquent non payment status.

I again contacted Wachovia to find out why I was being contacted on behalf of them for the balance that was supposedly "waived".

A representative of Wachovia Bank (Carla) assured me that she would contact her collection department and find out what was going on for me.

She contacted me approximately 30 minutes later assuring me that they have contacted the collection agency the balance was released to and that there was no longer any debt. She assured me that by the next work week there would be no mark on my credit for this. She was also the one who told me the name of the company (RJM).

Now, March 3rd 2008 I am contacted by RJM once again attempting to collect on their balance of $248.

I am literally sick over this. This issue has been haunting me for nearly 2 years and is killing my credit. I wasked to speak with a manager and the representative replied that "all managers are busy".

I told her I would hold until one was available.

She told me "It will be quite a while are you sure?"

I replied "Yes I am sure Please let me hold".

Approximately 2 minutes later a man picked up the phone and without stating his name or asking any questions simply stated the following.

"Listen, if you don't have the $248 then don't pay it. I don't have time for pricks like you that want to caused problems" He then raised his voice and said "If you want to pull out your credit card and pay your god damn debt then do it. If not then stop wasting my god damn time".

I was utterly shocked that someone could be so beligerant without even hearing what I had to say. I replied to him "This issue was supposedly taken care of last year." I asked him to then look at his records to find any calls from last year. He replied, "Look, pay it or don't. I don;t give a shit. Just stop wasting my time. I don't deal with pricks like you".

He then hung up the phone.

I called RJM back and asked to speak with the manager. The representative said "No."

I asked if I could please have her name. She replied "No." and promptly hung up the phone.

I called one more time and the manager answered saying "I have your phone number on file. I have your social security number right here" he proceeded to recite my social security number as loud as he could over the phone to prove to me he had it. He proceeded to tell me that he would have me "locked up" if I called again for anything other than paying the debt.

And now here I am on the internet researching RJM.

One of my friends called the agency from another phone asking to speak with a manager. They told her he was unavailable.

When she asked what the manager's name was they told her she would need to give them her social security number before they would release ANY information... If I am not mistaken it is unlawful to ask for someone social security number. Is it not?

I finally contacted RJM one last time and told them "I am ready to pay the debt. I will pay but I wan to do this right. I need some kind of reference number to this debt and also the name of the manager I speak to in order to make this payment that way if anyone asks me who i spoke with I would have the information."

She rep transferred me to the same manager.

He answered with "If you don't have your credit card out don't bother talking right now. All i want to hear is your credit card number."

I explained to him the same thing that I explained to the rep.

He told me his name was "Dan Sumpter" and he was the "General Manager" of RJM Acquisitions LLC.

I promptly said "See you in court" and hung up the phone.

I am sick and tired of being hounded by these people. They are rude uncooperative and as far as I am concerned I do not owe them a single penny. They have put the debt on my credit report as a public entry for anyone to see. This is Fraudulent and ILLEGAL. I need help with this. I do not know where to go. I work a full-time job and I am 20 years old. This is going to haunt me all through my years if I can't get this taken care of. I cannot even get approved for a new car.

Please help me out with this. Wachovia was the worst bank choice of my life and now RJM is making it just that much worse.
