I first starting banking with Union Federal Bank, then Sky Bank bought them out. After about a year, Sky then merged with Huntington Bank.
With the first two banks, I had no problems with my account when it would be over drawn. They would process the transactions and with any trans actions that would make my account go negative, they would access an overdraft fee. That's fine I say I don't care.
When Huntington merged with Sky Bank, that procedure went out the window. Huntington's policy is to charge for all transactions if your account balance shows a negative even though the bank has not processed those transactions yet.
For example: if you have $200 in your account and you have ten transactions that that total $250, your account balance would then show -$50 even though the ten transactions have not cleared or has been processed by the bank. They then charge you $37.50 for overdraft fees on all ten transactions when they process them, because your account balance shows a -$50.00.
I have brought this up to Huntington bank on a couple occations, and told them that they are ripping me off. I feel as though if 5 or 6 transactions can clear my account without it going into the negative, then they should only apply an overdraft fee for the remainer. They just don't seem to care and or get it. I'm tired of them ripping me off and them telling me that they are sorry. It just doesn't cut it anymore.
Yeah, I can switch banks, but I want my money back. It's not their's. And I will be switching banks.
