Huntington National Bank
Loves them nsf fees dont they! Ripoff

My problem is with huntington national bank itself. I am an accountant, i know how to keep track of money, and i know how to reconcile an account and when my account doesnt balance with their statement. Theres a problem. Here is what the bank likes to do. First they see some items that are pending (and oh yeah, by the way if you go on the internet to check pending items, they dont show pending checks, only pending automatic payments and debits on the account, so. You better hope that you are right).

I dont care who you are we all have been there and we all have made the common mistakes. But if there are items that are pending and you have a direct deposit go in say at midnight that night and the other transactions at 6:00 A.M. Well then. They will get you for insufficient funds placing those transactions first before your direct deposit.

Not only that, but how do they lose and $800.00 deposit in cash? Apparently they do it all the time, and when you ask for your refund of overdraft fees, they tell you even though you have 6 overdraft fees, we are only going to credit you 2 because of the way the items came through the bank. You want my opinion how about 2 weeks later (2) unauthorized transactions came through causing 13 more overdraft fees and none of it was refunded only the unauthorized transactions, and do you want to know why? Because "supposidly" even though those transactions were unauthorized and every damn penny of mine was accounted for except for those items, they were not what caused my account to go into overdraft, it was the items that i had accounted for. Go figure hey? And just a little heads up on deposits.

Answer me this one, why is it that i can walk into a bank and cash my payroll check right away. Cash in my hand, but i deposit it and it takes (2) days for the money to get there? Now tell me how in the hell does that make sense? I have given up on huntington, and i have yet to fight them for my overdraft fees that they owe me totaling 1,116.00.

I think that it is ridiculous that it seems all of the hard-working people who dont have the money to give are the ones that get it in the rear by these banks. When i asked huntington, why is it that you are paying items when there is no money in the account, wanna know what they told me "it is a common courtesy". Common courtesy my ass! For who? For you? Who gets all them fees? I pay this bank more money to bank there than i pay my mortgage company to live in my house.

I feel that banking fees are overrated and should be no more than $5.00 per transaction or 1% of the amount. Too many people are getting rich off of our expense! And just to make a point to some of these people out there, i am not looking for someone else to blame nor am i looking for any sympathy, i am looking for what is right and fair, and to me right and fair is being honest with your customers.

Just tell us up front.By the way. You screw up or if we screw up. You will pay for it. Then we can decide if we really want to bank with you or not, but putting it in the fine print (which by the way about 98% of people never read - and if you say you do. You're a liar!) is just a way to scam and deceive. Put the sh* in bold!
