Harrassment

I recieved a call from this Patty Phillips at Anderson, Crenshaw and Assc. On Feb. 13. I was told it was a call to collect a debt, and asked if I was aware of the debt. I said that I was not. The debt was supposed to come from my alarm company, which was paid by direct debit from my checking account. I was told the debt was for more than $2500, for the entire contract, the installation and the sales commissions. I told the woman that I would not be able to pay that much at this time.

After this she said that I could pay in three installments of more than $800 a month. When I told her that I could not afford that she went down to $300 a month. I told her that I would not be able to afford that either.

Ms. Phillips then became belligerant and began shouting at me. She asked for the name and phone number of my supervisor, which according to the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, I am not required to provide her. When I refused to provide her with this, she transfered me to her manager, who would not give me his name. He asked if I was refusing to give my supervisors name, I answered yes, and he told me he was going to call information and get my supervisors name and telephone number. He then hung up on me.
