Nationstar Mortgage is the worst company I have ever dealt with. I received the loan through Centex and unfortunately got into a ARM. Because my credit was marred by my ex husband I received a higher rate. I knew I was getting a higher rate but was never told the extent that it could balloon. I guess it was in the fine print somewhere.
At the end of the 2 yr fixed rate my payment has almost doubled within 8 months. Late fees keep showing up and attorney fees which I have no clue what they are and now I just found out that I was on an escrow account that I did not know about (I know I sound dumb but I was not explained that escrow was to pay homeowners insurance) so I find out from State Farm that while I have been paying through a draft for homeowners I have also been paying Nationstar in my monthly note.
I was shocked to hear of the duplication and have had no cooperation with Nationstar to find out where my money is. They keep saying State Farm owes me a refund. But they in fact collected the escrow and did not pay State Farm for my renewal for 2007 and will not respond to my repeated request to explain further.
Then I have asked various and sundry departments to help me get a fixed rate for my mortgage. After waiting for six months someone just called me today and wanted me to reapply. I said are you kidding me, you are supposed to be helping people stay in their homes and how can I reapply when my credit is worse due to your reporting and to my credit cards that suffered because I was paying you double. I have not heard back but I was turned down by another lender because of the late reporting that was on my Nationstar credit. Unbelievable.
Also, these imaginary fees show up every month and my late fees are now approaching 700.00. If I send the payment, its late, if I make a check payment over the phone it is late. And I just recently had to defer a payment to the end of my loan which Nationstar told me I would be current. Well, it seems that I still owe according to them over 6000.00 to become current for a 30 day late payment. How that happened I do not know. All I know is that each department shifts me to another department and then it goes deadend. These people are trying to get me to default and no one else is ever going to touch me with the track record they are setting me up for. I have made mistakes on my credit I admit but this is not fair at all.
I have even received letters from Bankruptcy attorneys trying to help me because I guess notices go out to everyone and their brother about my situation. Unbelieveable, and Nationstar also gave out my email address as well as hundreds of others in a mass email saying that we needed to contact them ASAP.
They also called my neighbors at home saying they were trying to get a hold of me and I had just spoken to them. My neighbor was apalled and she said the person said " we are trying to get a hold of Teresa, why don't you go tell her?" It ticked my neighbor off and she told them that my loan was none of her business and that was going to report them. So, you name it they have done it and it is killing me that I cannot get out from under them and I do not understand why Nationstar does not want to help me stay in my house. Who does that to someone?
