Claiming they didn't receive my check double dipping my account

The compnay is bankrupt and has used every trick in the book to get more money. On July 2 of I paid over the phone because they claimed they did not receive my check. They then took DOUBLE the amount out of my bank account. They did this to more than 100 people, according to their own representative. When I called, someone from India imformed me that they couldn not put th emoney baqck until after the holiday. They took the money out instantly, but wouldn't put the money back. I never got remibursed for my overdrafts and fees from my Credit Union. NOW, I mailed my check for my mortgae on Dec. 28. I knew it would be a day late, getting there on January 2nd. My mistake. On January second the calls started, the same man from India. Morning and night, every day, trying to get me to give him my bank account numbers so they could withdraw the payment. I knew they had the check, and didn't want the same thing to happen that happened in July. Well, it is now January 16 and they still claim they didn't receive the check. All the other checks I mailed the same day have long been cashed. If I stop payment on the check and pay over the phone, I am fairly sure they will double dip as they are in so much trouble. Now I will have to pay almost 200 in late fees that THEY caused. I cannot afford to pay twice.
