Last January I got 2 sub prime loans from Ocwen for a house in Portland OR. Right away Ocwen called me night and day for my social security number. Since they already had that and I don't give my SS number our over the phone. I refused. Still they called. Same reason. I called customer service. The calls never stopped until I charged my phone number. Now, Ocwen has made it extremely difficult to pay them. I make my payments through my bank via internet draft which goes to Ocwen 5 days before the 15th due date. Usually Ocwen waits a week over my due date to accept my payment. They charge a late fee. September's check waited so long in my account that I put it into my savings account. I sent another check, not collected. I received bills from them saying no payment was made. Late charges were incurred. Same thing with October's check. I called customer service and after 45 minutes got a man in India who told me Ocwen wasn't accepting checks from me because the September check bounced and I need to send a Western Union Money Gram. Customer service led me on a merry go 'round, having me enter my account number the automated voice said my last payment was in September. I sent another check and another. Still no acceptance of the payment. More late fees. This is November. Yesterday, I finally got ahold of a manager who after I kept saying over and over that all I want to do is pay them but I don't want to pay Western Union to pay them - finally let me pay over the phone using my bank routing number. I owed over 6,000 in back payments and "late fees." What's their scam? Do they want our homes to go into foreclosure?
