We have had out Rush account for about a year. We had some slight problems getting the accounts active and useable, but after that we had about 6 good months.
Several months ago, the card was being denied at random retailers, but we could pull cash from the card. We were locked out of the ATM's because of technical problems (there's a lot of those, by the way), and had to use a bank teller to make withdrawals. One time, we went to withdrawal cash at the teller window, and Rush declined the transaction due to NSF... There was nearly $2000 in the account. We were able to go down the street and use the card at a convenience store not 10 minutes later.
Today I took my husband to lunch for his birthday. I had checked our card balance moments before walking out the door, but after our meal, the waitress ran the card repeatedly and it was declined. We had to leave the debit card, his DL, and a business card with the restaurant manager to avoid being arrested. My husband spent nearly two hours on the phone with them trying to understand why we couldn't run any transactions. The B.S. Story was that after a year of 'banking' with them, they discovered they had his birthday wrong in the system, so they froze the account. He had to fax personal documents to India to clear it up. They still argued when it was time to release the account because a merchant had tried to credit something back onto the card, and they said it looked 'suspicious.'
Many of their business practices seem unethical, and sometimes may border on illegal. Steer clear of this company.
