After calling NFCU in May regarding one of my five NFCU accounts, I was coerced by a representative to sign up for the protection plan for my car loans. I was given a brief description that this plan would cover my payments if I was to become unemployed. I said sure, sign me up.in November I tried to utilize the plan and I was denied and told that I had to be working for a full six months in order to utilize the plan. At that point I told them to cancel the plan that I was paying for but would not be able to utilize. I was informed that my payments would go back to the original monthly amounts that I was paying prior to obtaining this "protection plan". To date, this has NOT happened. I have contacted NFCU on MANY occassions and I am being giving conflicting, inconsistant, fraudulent information by both good and bad representatives. When I call in, the reps and supervisors are telling me that YES my payments should go back to the original amounts and that they would have the appropriate department do so... But to date it's never been completed and I have been demanded to pay the additional payments or else, since November. My frustration can be seen through my on-line messages to NFCU, as well as their non-empathetic, inconsistant responses to me. NFCU wants me to continue to pay for the protection plan even though I canceled it, through-out the remainder of the loan. They have no empathy for me as the consumer, I was told that they will report my delinquency to the credit bureaus if I refused to pay the additional money, and that they did not care if I contacted the Media or a Lawyer. I am very dissatisfied and wish I never dealt any kind of business with this agency.
