Ameritrust Financial called me about a credit card offer. They said they could get me a visa or Mastercard pending on how I managed my checking account. This is how they got my account number. They came back to me and said that I would require a $200 deposit from my account, but I would recieve 4-$50 vouchers to make up for the deposit.
The following day, I called them back to tell them that I did not want their card. They said that they could not tell me anything about the card I was approved for until they took the money from my account, and hung up on me. I called back and asked for a supervisor (everyone you talk to there claims to be a supervisor). I told them that I had been told that I had 3 days to cancel and that is what I wanted to do and not to take the $200 out of my account. They told me I had to put my cancellation notice in writing. I done that, and they still took the $200.
When I called back, once again I was lucky enough that a supervisor answered (right!), who told me to send a letter. I tried to explain to her that I already had, and I wanted the money returned to my account. She told me it would be evaluated in 4 weeks and hung up on me.
