I was contacted by a representative from Ameritrust Financial shortly befor christmas and was asked about recieving a "credit card that could help build my credit." I was not informed that the card could only be used on there cheep website nor in the begining was I informed that there would be a charge withdrawn from my checking account.
I was asked to not ask any?'s until after the recording was turned off and I was also told that my account # was only needed to ensure that my checking account was in good standing. After the recording was turned off and I had already givin out my routing # I asked what was mentioned in the recording about a $200 fee and I was informed that they could do it in 2 easy payments.
After I thought about it for a moment, I called the representative back that I had spoken with and told him that I WAS NOT interested and that I DID NOT want the money taken out off my account... He said that I had nothing to worry about and that the money would not be withdrawn, he also gave me the "customer service #" in case I had any problems and he said that they would be able to assit me...
I recieved a bank statement today informing me that my checking account was is in the neggative due to a deposit I had made for a card with Ameritrust Financial. I tried to call the 1-866... # that they give you, and, GO FIGURE, it is a crock... No one ever answers there phone and there is no customer service so for all u who have been screwed over by Ameritrust Financial I feel for you!!! But what can u do?
