I got this company's card left on my windshield at the same time I happened to be looking for a mortgage, so I thought I would give them a call. I filled out an application and got approved for an 8% adjustable mortgage, (a no brainer not to do this). Since I had less than perfect credit at the time, I decided that I would go ahead and see if I could do business with this company.
I got a call from them asking me to send them the application fee and an appraisel fee and then they would send me the approval letter. I sent them a total of $560 dollars. They sent me one piece of paper with no truth in lending statement or anything other than a conditional approval letter.
After a month and conversations with 2 seperate builders, I decided to go in another direction. I contacted Kay at Mercedes Mortgage and she said it would take about 2 weeks to process the refund. That was in June of 07. After the 2 weeks, I contacted her back and she got rude with me and said not to call her again.
I contacted the office again and got put in touch with a man that is supposed to be the CEO. He actually told me that he was a Christian and that this was a Christian based company and that it was wrong of me to ask for a refund and insinuated that if I was a Christian, I wouldn't ask for a refund. He made numerous promises to me that the refund would be processed and that I would have it shortly. Of course that check still hasn't arrived.
This company is a multi-level marketing type of mortgage company I believe and I am not sure if they have recently changed their name since their website looks like it is no longer being maintained.
Please be careful and don't get ripped off like I did.
