First and foremost I must get out that I have never had satisfactory results with your company. With that said that is why im writing this.
Victoria secret has only done one thing that I asked them to do. When I got married my last name changed. You guys did change that in your system however, I still have yet to this day receive a new card.
On three different occasions I have tried to get thecompany to send me paper bills. Each time I am told that I will get them, and then I get nothing. Because of this I pay off my card each month that I put money on it online.
Today I get woken up with a call I do not recognize. I look up the number and it is a collection Agency for World Financial Network Bank. I know the only card I have that goes though that bank is Victoria Secret. The first thought in my head is, wow, I know I paid that bill off two months ago. So I call Victoria secret and this is when I am told that no, I only paid 10 dollars and my bill is now in the ballpark of 70 dollars. 30 is what I owed and now I have 40 dollars in late pays accrued.
I am appalled at this realization. So I call the customer service line. I am told that yes, in fact Im late TWO whole months. When I ask about my paper bills that I have requested I am told once again that no, you are signed up for online billing
This is where I loose my cool I admit. I mean, wouldnt you if you have requested paper billing 3 different times and you still havent gotten one? I then tell this guy, lets humor ourselves and say I do have online billing. I have not once, in the past two months, gotten an e-mail or ANYTHING from your company stating that I was late. Hence I did not even KNOW I was late until this morning when I get a call from the collection agency.
So this man tells me he understands but I was still late. I understand that I was late, however because I was NEVER informed and I had not USED my card in the past two months (so I did not go online to pay) I did not even know I was late. He then states he will take off one late pay but I have to pay the bill now at a charge of 7 dollars. Great, you are going to make me PAY you to pay my bill. I dont think so. I hung up on him.
This is ludicrous, how you possibly do something like that to someone. If I was notified I would have paid my bills. I have a credit score of 700 and I pride myself in paying all my bills on time. I do no use a credit card unless I can pay at least 100 dollars per month toward the balance. Here you are, not even telling me Im late and charging me 40 dollars and putting a 60 day late on my credit report. Its ridiculous.
I will be contacting Victoria Secret, and World Financial network about the fraudulent activities going on. I feel that they needed to at least notify my in SOME way that I was late.instead they wait TWO months and send it over to collections. That is wrong.
This is the second time this has happened to me. I will admit that the first time was partially my fault because I did not attempt to pay. What happened was this card was my first ever credit card (just turned 18) and I asked my aunt Why havent I gotten a bill yet and she stated it was because I only put 25 dollars on my card and they would not charge me until I spent more. Needless to say, three months later I get a call from the SAME collection agency stating I never paid my bill and I owe them 80 dollars. I paid the 80 dollars off because I didnt know better. I wish back then I would have asked where my bills were because back then, I didnt even have an online account with Victoria Secret.
As Im writing this Im sitting here wondering how I get signed up for online statements after requesting paper billing over and over again. I dont know if you automatically get signed up for online statements when you pay online, but to pay over the phone its a charge of $7.00 so thats why I have to pay online because I have never received a bill so I cannot pay these guys by check. I think that when you pay online it automatically signs you up and then they are not required to mail you anything. What this does is allow them to say they sent you something stating that you are over due and blame computer complications on you not getting it. I feel like Victoria Secret and World financial bank are rip offs.
