I made my September payment to Homecomings on 9/11/07. The check cleared my bank account on 9/13/07. On 9/20/07, I received a letter from Homecomings stating my check was returned NSF. I called Homecomings and did a 3-way conference call with my bank. My bank (Bofa) confirmed my payment cleared my account and advised the manager of homecomings that the check in question did clear my account. Bofa also sent Homecomings a copy of the canceled check as well as a copy of my bank statement to further evidence my payment cleared my bank account.
I've called Homecomings everyday since 9/20. Every time I call, I have to wait at leaset 30 minutes, explain to a new person why I'm calling and pray a manager will call me back. 6 days in to my quest to locate my payment, I was able to squeeze a name and extension of the supervisor who said was going to help me. I've left him countless messages since 9/28 and I have yet to receive a call back from them.
Since 9/20, I've called Homecomings on a daily basis trying to get answers. All they can tell me is that the payment is being researched.in the meantime, I pulled my credit and Homecomings is showing I am delinquent 30 days on my mortgage. My credit score has gone down over 100 points because of an error that is not my fault. As of today, I am out $3200, my credit score is down the toilet and NO ONE at Homecomings is willing to make any effort to rectify this situation.
do not ever take a loan out with homecomings. Not only will they steal your payment, but they will not post it to your mortgage and then ruin your credit report.

We as consumers have rights and we need to stop Homecomings from taking advantage of honest consumers and violating our rights.
