Deceptive dishonest fraudulent practices ripoff

This company called us back in July - asking for my husband who was not at home at the time. They called back daily and tried to get me to agree to either pick up their service in either his or my name. They told me (and him later - when they finally caught him at home) that this was a credit card with a $2,500 limit and that it would allow balance transfers from other cards. Both of us had asked repeatedly about this very thing. And were assured that that was the case. They told me the reason that it had a 0% interest rate was that they made their money from the yearly fee and other services that they provided to their customers. When asked repeatedly if this was a debit card, it was denied. - they wanted a shipping fee of about $30. And told us that there would be a $99 fee AFTER we had a chance to look at the paperwork

My husband finally agreed to look at their paperwork, sometime in early August. (he has the dates written down)

On August 22, Capital First hit his account for $99.95 and $59.95 - which we hadn't known about or authorized. He immediatly called them, since he had not received the packet. He was told it had been shipped out - But they couldn't give him any routing numbers or information, but they would ship him a new packet.

At this time I found this website - and got a bit worried. If only I have found it earlier.

The packet showed up on August 28. It's worthless junk mail. They ship it Bulk Mail - no routing, No Post Office date stamp - nothing. And the paperwork talked about a "pay as you go" card. That you had "credit" to the limit of the monies you had on deposit. Just because you use a cute euphemisn like "pay as you go" doesn't make it any less a debit card. Nothing about balance transfer paperwork that was promised. There is no point in doing a balance transfer onto a debit card anyway.

It was too late on August 28th to call. (after 6 PM central time.) So my husband called on August 29th. - was told that they were swamped and that they would call him back. He waited. At 6:40 Eastern time - which was of course 5:40 Central - he called back - and talked to a girl who tried 4 times to talk him out of cancelling. She denied that it was a debit card - "pay as you go" don't you see? Every time he said no, he wanted it cancelled and wanted his money back, and asked for a supervisor. He stayed very calm. He finally got a supervisor "Nick". It was now 7:02. He said that the "escalation" department had to take care of that and they were gone for the day, that he had to call back in the morning.

He called back at 9:45 East Coast time and was told that his account had been cancelled. That they wanted him to send back thie packet and fax a copy of the registered mail receipt that it had been done to get a refund. I find it extremely odd that they want a packet back that they had sent out bulk mail in the first place - if it hadn't reached it's destination - it would have been trashed anyway.

Lets see how this goes... Shall we?
