Vanderbilt Horror story

Vanderbilt acquired my load a few years ago. They have been nothing but problems. Although I had direct pay with the prior company, it had been cancelled when I switched jobs. A few months after acquiring Vanderbilt began the direct debt from my account without my authorization, I would file a complain with the bank & get my money back & have to block their access to my account.

They changed my due date stating I was due on the 5th when my contract states 15th... Then they charged me a huge late charge when my contract again states $5.00! They began harrassing me & my manager at work, threatening, yelling, cusing, etc... Calling repeatedly, even after my manager told them I couldn't get calls at work. I was finally told to get the calls to stop or find another job! So I found another job.

They threatened me, questioned my parenting because I paid my space rent before I paid them, called me racial slurs, cused me out, telling me I had until the weekend to more out, called me 5 am to 10 pm everyday! They had someone come to my house, looking like a drugged up prostitude questioning my neighbors, and taking pictures of my house. She even came to my door one day when I was home & threatened me... My neighbor received a notice of intent to sell her home and never received a default letter... I still haven't received a default letter although they were trying the same thing with me!

Now... To get out of all the drama several of us in our park who have all encountered the same thing have filed bankrupcy! They are challenging our appraisal, and somehow I own more on my loan after 5 years than when I purchased it! I will be so glad to stop getting the calls, the threats, although I am still getting block number phone calls during the day they haven't changed their habits...

I did file a complaint with the federal trade commission who sent me a letter to find an attorney... But we need everyone to continue to complain. They need to stop the illegal tactics. Something needs to be done! There's several of us here with horror stories. Can't wait to see them in court...
