I was at work while my fiancee had received a call at home from FAIRFAX LENDING GROUP. I thought I had it all figured out when she told me, since I did SOME research and thought I knew this wasn't a scam. Even though I was paranoid I needed the money badly for my debts. Anyway, I had backed out of an earlier offer from ROYAL TRUST (a RUDE and PUSHY Brenda Davidson was my representative) because they made enough mistakes for me to figure out it wasn't a real loan. First of all, who the hell looks up Western Union locations for me and gets utterly mad at me when I declined to take her "hard-worked for" search on the loactions. Well, I backed out of that one but I was stupid enough to fall for Fairfax. Here's why:
1. They have a very nice and professional website.
&I should've checked for a phone number on their website, which they don't have but I'm stupid and didn't.
2. They make you feel comfortable with them, like they really want to help you.
3. They have done their homework and made their company believable (i.E. Faxing info, collateral explanations, professional looking contract, promises to lower the price for the collateral for you, etc.)
too bad I didn't catch the fact that they didn't ask for me to fax my ID which all LOAN SERVICES do require. Nor did I follow what I felt was right like I did for ROYAL TRUST, that the damn receiver was in CANADA.
4. They actually have a physical address on their contract.
5. They have an automated phone service like most professional businesses (you know, press 1 for blah blah or if you know your party's extension blah blah) and the stupid background music that banks have.
I don't know what else to list for that but I'm sure there's more but I just feel utterly stupid. At first they asked for a 911.00 collateral, but some "KIND SOUL" of Mr. JACK BRADY told us he would reduce it for us to $750.00. I was not so happy to hear that. We only had $300 because we just moved from CALI to OHIO. Well, that was back in April. So recently, when we received our biggest paycheck yet, a total of $1400.00, we decided to put $750.00 in for Jack. We called and he said great, let's do it. So stupidly, we went to Moneygram like he suggested, and sent it to a shady JENNIFER COOLEY in F@ (#*ing CANADA which I should've stopped then but I didn't cuz I was very desperate to pay my bills which I STILL HAVEN'T PAID BECAUSE OF THESE LOSERS. Well, Jack then called back when I called and said hey, the money hasn't shown up in my account. He transferred us to the supervisor and Mr. CHARLES FOSTER claimed the the reassesment required and additional $750.00. I'm glad I found this site today because I was about to send another $750.00 to them, and thank goodness I didn't have my checkbook so payday loans couldn't give me loans. Then I would have lost $750.00 and owed $750.00 more. Too bad I can't get my original $750.00 back. I'm about to be homeless and live on the streets because that was the money I was supposed to use for an apartment. I'll probably lose my car because I have payments to make on it monthly. I'll probably starve because I lost my job. And I'll continue to think of ways to bash FAIRFAX REPS' heads into a vending machine. Well, that's my story. $750.00 may not seem a lot to most of you, but it's such hard earned money... Working 66 hours a week... Day to night... My fiancee and I... We're only 19 and 18. What can we do now? I just want my money back... Somehow, some way... I wish somebody could help us.
