I don't have the best credit, to top it off, I have a few "payday loans" that have been eating my paycheck every other week. I was looking online for a loan to payoff the other loans, oddly enough, I encountered a site called "patriotloans.org", which took me to an application for a loan of a minimum of $5000.00. A day later I was contacted by Michael Davidson and the hell began. You'd think that a website with the '.org' in it would be legitimate, but obviously I was taken for a ride.
Davidson advised me I was "fully approved" for $5000.00; all I needed was to send a "collateral" of $930.00 or so dollars to take care of the first 8 months of payments (the interest rate was 6%! I was thrilled!). I stated I didn't have the full $ so he was "NICE" and lowered the amount to an even $700.00. I sent the money via Moneygram to a Nicole Sittler in Canada, assuring that the $5000 would be in my account the next day.
Well, the next day, I get a call from a Larry Houston asking for ANOTHER $700.00 b/c the "insurance compnay" had reevaluated my credit and neded more collateral. Obviously I said NO, but by this time I was assured I lost the first $700. He said the loan can be cancelled but my refund will suppossedly be processed until January 2nd! I mentioned to this guy that they were being reported on this website a scam artists, he laughed, asked me who I bank with, I told him "Bank of America".. He had the nerve to suggest I look up my bank on this website and I would find countless reports on them. He said all of the allegations against them were lies.
I thought I had done my research, I looked online for any negative reports on Charter. NOTHING! I contacted the Maryland Better Business Bureau. Nothing. Low and behold THE DAY AFTER I sent my money, all these reports are filed in your website. I believe the first one was Dec 2nd!
*PEOPLE PLEASE DON'T FALL FOR THESE SCAMMERS* My Christmas is ruined, my payday loans are still eating away at my paycheck and now I can't even make my house payment this month. It was too good to be true!
