Received calls on cell phone from 727-859-9922, registered to this company, soliciting their student loan consolidation services in violation of the TCPA.
I made contact with Omar Velazquez and Ed Hills of Direct Student Service about a call on April 2. Company is unable so far to provide credible specific information about how they obtained my cell phone number or permission to call it for commercial purposes. Of course, since this is a cell phone, I pay for their abusive calls.
Company is also slow to respond to a request for a written Do-Not-Call Policy which, pursuant to 47 CFR, they must provide to me "upon demand, " (i.E. Immediately), leading me to question whether the company maintains the required Do-Not-Call Policy at all.
Laziness, contempt for privacy, disrespect for my cell phone charges, and dubious excuse-making characterize this company's interactions with me. I fully expect that they will sooner face me in small-claims court than conduct honest and respectable business. Stay tuned. I'll post an update in a couple weeks.
