Somehow Asset Acceptance got a default judgment against me for a debt I don't even know about. I didn't even find out about it until my wages started being garnished.
It appears that when the original court date, and when I as supposedly notified of the court date, I was not living at home because I was in the hospital. So there was no way I could be notified to appear in court.
Now the court clerk tells me I can't do anything about the judgement because it is after 21 days or whatever the time limit is. I can just try to get the garnishment stopped, which if it even works, Asset Acceptance will just file another garnishment.
