21st Mortgage bought out our home loan in April. We had not notification of selling our loan just received letters from them wanting money. We have never been late on our payments. We have had a hard time due to my husbands health and my unemployement but always manage to make the payments even if we split it up within the month. Never a month late though. We purchased our home in 1998.
In July my husband was put out of work by our doctor. We have sold everything we have of any value to pay the bills. We are on foodstamps and medicade just to feed our kids and make sure there is medical coverage. I have been pounding the pavement for work since May with no luck whatsoever.
Our Oct. 2006 payment is late. My husband is working although the doctor says he should not be, but we have to do something.
My husband talked to the Mtg. Company on Oct 31st. Trying to expalin to them that his check did not come in the previous week and he does expect it in by the 3rd of Nov. And could make our Oct 1st payment.
Rebecca at 21st Mtg. Put her supervisor on the phone and she began speaking to my husband as if he were a child. She told him that we had until 9pm that evening to pay or they would foreclose on the house. She stated to him that it is people like "us" that just want to have things and not pay their bills. We do pay our bills. It is hard, granted but we do. My husband has had wonderful credit for a very long time but due to his medical problem we ran into a rut. We still have maintained all the bills until this has happend.
The supervisor also told my husband that we owe 2 payments which is a lie! The only payment we owed was the oct 1st 2006 payment.
Rebecca at 21st Mortgage also stated in her message on my answering machine that they don't know what the problem is and they really don't care. That apparently we don't want to live in our house and they are going to put someone else in our home to live. She also stated that if the payment was not made by 6 pm on Oct 31st that they would not take any future payments from us.
People beware of this company. They do not care and stated that firmly to us. They will not be the least bit understanding as to even give you a couple extra days when a bad situation hits. If you look at their website you will see all the foreclosed homes they have. There is a reason for that. Not that all these people were deadbeats. I am sure many were like us and just hit a rough patch and needed a little humanity that you will not find with 21st mortgage in my opinion.
