In June we finalized our bankruptcy. Our original mortgage was through Principle Residential Mortgage. Midland bought them Jan I believe. After 2 years have past we decided to take a look at our credit report and realized that Midland is not reporting us to the credit bureau's. They say its because they never got a re-affirmation agreement from us and they say it is unlawful for them to report us without that re-affirmation agreement. My bankruptcy lawyer says that it is usually up to the mortgage company to send a re-affirmation agreement but in my case they did not which at the time was principle residential mortgage. My laywer said he could file a petition with the courts to see if we can get a re-affirmation agreement but it would take more money that I don't have. Midland basically says I am screwed. What do I do now? Help!
